First of all, if you have asthma, please don’t eat the following; peanuts, salt, shellfish, wine with sulfates and dairy. Most of the wine with sulfates is like red wines. Know the ones that give you headaches and things like that. Believe it or not, caffeine actually is a bronchodilator. It actually lasts for up to four hours.
This is one way at one alternative that we can think of for your asthma medication. It’s not something to be used widely, this is in an emergency case. Magnesium relaxes the muscles around the bronchi and allows you to breathe better. Don’t go overboard, but dark chocolate can do it as well. When we think about asthma or breathing problems, we think about inflammation.
Garlic is great for anti-inflammatory properties. Anything anti-inflammatory is great for asthma. Carrots are high in beta-carotene. Beta-carotene boosts your immune system, which helps your body fight any kind of infection. Cantaloupe is actually great for asthma. It’s high in vitamin. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and is also going to help with asthma.
Avocados are fantastic for asthma as well. It’s a super antioxidant, this is going to help control asthma. Eating apples about two to three times a day helps with asthma as well. Eucalyptus oil, coconut oil, almond oil, macadamia oil, and olive oil all can be used as a carrier oil. You can put it at the bottom of your feet, your chest area, or the upper back area to help asthma.
Some herbs that are great for asthma are rosemary, peppermint, thyme, marjoram, and oregano. You can season your food with them to help asthma as well. Anything with the omega-3, like salmon, Cod, mackerel, halibut and believe it or not soy products also have a good amount of omega-3s in it.
I hope that this has been helpful.
